I bumped heads with someone two days ago on my left temple area. no blackout no vomiting etc.. but head feels bruised inside. is this normal?

It can be: Bone contusions (bruises) may feel quite deep and may last for many days. However, even without loss of consciousness, a significant head injury can result in concussion. You should see your doctor for a complete examination. S/he may want to do further testing, or at the least continue to monitor you until your symptoms resolve.

Yes: Yes it is normal, you probably have bruise, if there is no persistent headache, blurred vision and vomiting, just apply ice to bruised area.
