Should you get a cast if you have a worsening hairline fracture in your ankle?

Perhaps: Talk to your podiatrist or orthopedist if immobilization ( a cast, cam walker) and/or offloading (crutches) may be needed. Your doctor can talk about your treatment options.

Not always: Often times a cam walking boot will do.

If it is getting : Worse you need to examine why....If walking too much, a cast would help prevent this.....

May benefit: A cast or a rigid walking boot may be used in such a situation.
