A member asked:

What would yellow eye discharge and cold symptoms indicate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yellow eye discharge: Yellow eye discharge is not necessarily pus caused by infection. An example is babies with plugged tear ducts. The whitish yellowish discharge is an accumulation of surface eye and lid cells that are washed out by tears. Other than that, thick yellowish greenish discharge is usually caused by bacterial infection but, occasionally, when caused by viruses.
