I had a bunionectomy surgery and the site feels fine. i've developed a lump on ball of foot which is painful. what is it?

A few things...: A lot depends on if the "lump" is in the skin or under the skin. It could be any of a number of tumors, or more commonly, a benign process known as a plantar fibroma. If your surgery was very recently, it could also be a hematoma, or gathering of clotted blood. See a podiatrist for an exam.

Lump: When was the surgery? It could be a cyst or neuroma. Is the lump soft or hard? I would recommend seeing your podiatrist for a full work up. Good luck.

Could : Be transfer lesion to 2 nd metatarsal, cyst, fibroma or many other things. Se surgeon who did surgery.

Many possibilities: Some causes of painful “lumps” may include: bony overgrowths, soft tissue masses, ganglions, fibromas, and cysts. Have it evaluated by a professional to get the right diagnosis.
