Should i go to the doctor's if i have a broken or dislocated jaw?

Definitely: Any type of abnormality with the jaw, or tmj(temporomandibular joint), should be evalated as soon as possible by a dentist. Failure to adequately diagnose and/or treat a TMJ problem can lead to long term functional problems.

Jaw Problems: A broken jaw is a fracture in the jaw bone. A dislocated jaw means the lower part of the jaw has moved out of its normal position at one or both joints where the jaw approximates the skull. Both conditions are best treated by a qualified physician or oral surgeon.
