Yes!Certainly can be: Fever can follow an illness, as can gatroenteritis. Was your child given antibiotics? This could be a factor!

M.D. visit: He may have a diarrheal illness from the same or another virus. If there is any blood or thick mucus in the stool, he will need to have a stool culture sent. If the hospital treated him with antibiotics, this may cause loose stools. Adding yogurt to his diet may help counteract this side effect. In addition, keep him well hydrated and monitor Temps. For continued fever, please call his M.D.
