Relax muscles: It depends on what the injury is. Massage therapy can relax the muscles that may have been injured by cheerleading. It will not help if there is a broken bone.

Benefits include increased blood flow, range of motion, flexibility, and elimination of exercise waste (lactic acid); decreased muscle tension and neurological excitability; and an increased sense of well-being. It can decrease the chances of injury and decrease recovery time. It is part of a treatment plan.
