Thrush is wipable: Thrush is another term for oral candidiasis. It is essentially a fungal infection of common oral microbe and is easily cured with antifungal medicines or troches (dissolvable tabs). Hairy leukoplakia is caused by a viral infection (epstein-barr virus) and usually occurs in immunocompromised patients. Thrush can occur also in these patents or patients who chronically take antibiotics.
