What are the different appearances of oral candidiasis and leukoplakia?

Great difference: Oral candidiasis does produce clinging white plaque in the oropharyngeal cavity, but the white areas of leukoplakia are premalignant or malignant and involve the epithelium (skin of the mouth) itself

Leukoplakia: Leukoplakia simply means a "white patch. It does not define the specific nature of the lesion. Candidiasis is a fungal infection that can appear as white patches so in reality it is a specific type of leukolpakia.
