A member asked:

Will antibiotics work for throbbing tooth ache?

The pain: Sometimes starts to dissipate upon staring an antibiotic regimen because the infection that is causing the inflammation (which is causing the pain) is starting to be controlled. The underlying problem still needs to be addressed. Best to consult with your dentist and not premedicate. Not all antibiotics are effective in treating dental problems.

Possible: Taking antibiotics will control the infection and subsequently some patients experience a decrease in pain. However, the best remedy is to see a dentist for treatment asap. The tooth can become abscessed very quickly.
