Not much fat: The biggest factor on the visibility of veins on arms is the amount of subcutaneous [ in the skin] fat that you have. Also the large and more toned the muscles are the more visible the veins. There are rare circulation issues that can lead to distended veins but these are in fact rare.

Physical exercse: Prominent veins of the arms in a man your age are almost always due to a decrease in body fat making the veins ppear more prominent...These veins are superficial and of no concern...Smong body builders it actually is considered a mark of beauty.

Vein stenosis: The appearance of large veins on the upper arm and sometimes on the chest can be the result of a narrowing of the larger veins in the chest. Similar to plumbing, if there is a clog upstream then the pipes downstream can dilate. A simple ultrasound examination maybe helpful in determining if this is the case. I hope this helps.
