How does ent check inner ear problem? head scanning?

Hearing and balance: By checking the hearing through a hearing test and balance through a test known as an eng we evaluate the inner ear. Head scanning is used to look for anatomical problems or tumors but head scanning does not check inner ear function.

Hard nickel sized lump under left ear. 2 months. Getting harder and harder. ENT got CT scan done. Said no abnormalities/no swollen lymph nodes. If I lift my head or open jaw wide it sometimes get "stuck" and squishes out from under jaw. Scary.
