Motrin: Many olympic athletes use high dose nsaids. However, not a good idea. I recommend to not use them. Muscle spasms may be good to prevent too much of a good thing.

Warm up and stretch: Yoga. Core strength. Warm up. Cool down all of this helps but sometimes they happen anyway.

Mineral Balance: I agree with stretching prior to exercise, but some cramping may be due to mineral deficiency. The most likely culprits are magnesium, calcium or potassium. Coconut water helps with potassium depletion. Many patients may require pill supplementation of any of these 3 minerals to help stop muscle cramps. Always consult your physician for what is right for you.
