Simple remedies...: Gargle with warm salt water to help reduce swelling and relieve discomfort. Prevent dehydration. Fluids may help thin secretions and soothe an irritated throat. Use a vaporizer or humidifier in your bedroom. Do not smoke or use other tobacco products and avoid secondhand smoke. Use nonprescription throat lozenges.

Remedies: Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day. Add honey & a small amt. Of lemon juice to chamomile tea. Pour boiling water over thinly sliced ginger. Steep 5 min. In a covered pot. Add 2 to 3 tbs honey & sip. Try thyme tea.
