Hyperthyroidism: Increased iodine uptake usually is secondary to hyperthyroidism which is an increased function of the thyroid, accompanied by decreased TSH and increased thyroid hormones (t3 (liothyronine) or t4) blood levels. It can be related to graves disease, hyperfunctioning thyroid nodules of thydoiditis. Hyperthyroidism can be easily treated. You must be seen by your physician.
