I have a 6 cm ovarian cyst. my last 2 periods have been really heavy. is this from the cyst?

Unlikely: Ovarian cysts are common; some are physiologic and a product of the ovulation process; others are pathologic. It is however unlikely that the cyst is causing heavy periods. I would recommend you follow-up with your gynecologist and have a better definition of the cyst.
