Depends: It depends on the level of discomfort you have. If you can't function because of the pain, aim to have it removed.

No: Hyperactive gallbladder is not an indication for surgery. However, there was one study from Russia that showed benefit from surgery in this condition. In the USA the insurance companies will not cover the surgery with this diagnosis. More studies are needed to prove or dis-prove that this is a true diagnosis that may benefit from surgery.
