A member asked:

Every time i breath in with my nose i feel air go into my stomach and feel the need to burp it out. is this aerophagia? not diagnosed for anxiety but been very stressed these past few weeks due to gi issues?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If air ends up in your stomach with that maneuver, I'd regard it as aerophagia. If this is caused by stress or anxiety, stress management therapy could help you break the habit. Also getting your gi issues controlled should be helpful as well. Avoid gassy foods& beverages.
