Onset of Pain: Differentiating a ruptured ovarian cyst from appendicitis can be difficult, always requiring physician evaluation, sometimes requiring ultrasound, ct, or even laparoscopy. Some differences: pain w/cysts tends to be sudden in onset, often worse at the beginning; appendicitis pain begins as a cramping, mid-abdominal discomfort that progressively worsens & localizes to right lower abdomen.
