No, it would not: Lymph node enlargement is very common in children, particularly with a viral infection. If your child has very tender node with or without fever, it may be a bacterial infection of the node. In that case, antibiotics would help. Take your child to his (her) doctor. If the node is small (less than 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch), and if it is not bothering the child, i would suggest to simply watch.
