A member asked:

Is it possible to become a neurologist or a neurosurgeon without central vision?

Certainly neurology: Neurologist are diagnosticians, and diagnosis is done mainly by listening to patients. It would be a handicap to have difficulty seeing MRI scans and other information, but certainly very possible to practice neurology without central vision. Neurosurgery requires good vision for detail when operating.

It'd be tough: It would be hard to be a neurologist as vision is crucial in examination especially of the eyes or monitoring movement disorders. It'd be impossible to be a neurosurgeon.

Not likely: Without central vision, it would not be possible to review the diagnostic imaging used in the care of neurologic problems.
