Usually from some: Type of injury like a fall or by getting hit by something or someone ranging from sports to a car accident. Sometimes the fracture occurs without trauma with an underlying problem occuring within the bone such as from a tumor, an infection, secondary to use of certain medications or even due to poor diet, smoking, malabsorption problems, metabolic condtions like osteoporosis or thyroid issue.
