Proper eval first: If hyperhydrosis, surgery can be quite successful for appropriate candidates. While done often by experienced thoracic surgeons (vats), it is chest surgery (major surgery). No: While the exact mechanism for palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis is not known, we know that it is not completely caused by being "stress". It might be oversensitivity of the sweat glands. "anti-stress" pills are not a treatment for this condition and probably will not help greatly. Consider antiperspirants, anticholinergic meds, iotophoresis, Botox injections...
