Maybe: At 20 months, most kids will have almost all of their baby teeth; however some kids will lag behind what is considered average. I would have your son evaluated by a pediatric dentist as there are some medical condititions that manifest as underdeveloped teeth. They can see with a simple x-ray if the teeth are developing or not.

No: The appearance of first teeth is quite variable. If he's met all his other developmental milestones, then this is not likely a problem. Talk with his doctor about normal development variations at his next check-up.
