A member asked:

Will grapeseed oil lower cholesterol ? and is it as good as using fish oil?

Possibly.: A study from 1993 shows some benefit to grapeseed oil when it comes to its effects on both HDL and LDL cholesterol. However at this point it would be hard to compare the benefits of grapeseed to fish oil especially when it comes to the non-cholesterol related cardiac benefits. Grapeseed oil may be a worthwhile choice when it comes to cooking as it has a reasonably high smoke point.

Usually Not: Marine omega 3 fatty acids (fish oil) have proven effects to lower triglycerides. Non marine fatty acids typically do not affect lipid or lipoprotein levels.
