Speed about equal : Depending on the tooth movements being done, the speed of movement is determined primarily by the body and its ability to change rather than the method of causing movement. The speed of braces and invisalign is very similar.

Depends On Teeth!: In some cases, invisalign is faster. In some cases, braces is faster. It depends on the type of tooth movement needed. We have patients that are in braces for 6 months and some in braces for 2.5 years. We have patients in invisalign for 6 months and also patients in invisalign for 2.5 years. It just depends. Good luck!

Depends on patients!: Patient compliance is an important factor when comparing the duration of treatment with invisalign vs. Braces. Both invisalign and braces work only by being placed and staying on teeth. If invisalign is not being worn on a full time basis, the correction it can provide will become limited to the time it's being worn. The same delay can occur if braces break frequently from eating hard food.

May be the same: Depending upon your specific orthodontic situation and needs, clear aligners or traditional braces may take the same amount of time to achieve results. Make an appointment with an orthodontic specialist for an opinion about your case.

About the same: For similar problems they are about the same. However many patients find invisalign more comfortable and less intrusive in their normal day to day existence. Even the clear ceramic non-metal braces have a tendency to shred your lips.

Wrong question: You should be asking what works BETTER. In the hands of a qualified Orthodontic Specialist braces are far superior to clear aligners as to overall treatment result, time in treatment, and post-treatment stability. Additionally Orthodontists do Orthodontic Treatment better than non-Orthodontists.
