Spider veins: Sclerotherapy is the injection of spider veins with a chemical or saline solution that irritates the vein, and causes it to collapse, so it can no longer be filled with blood.

Injection into vein: Sclerotherapy is the injection of a medication into the spider vein to destroy it. The sclerosant medication works by irritating the vein wall causing it to harden or" slcerose ". The vein will then be absorbed into the body. Often it takes 1- 5 treatment to remove a vein. Most vein doctors will use polidocanol or sts because they are better but some still use hypertonic saline.

Sclerotherapy: As the others have said, spider vein sclerotherapy involves injecting a chemical solution into veins with very small needles. The purpose of the injection is to cause damage to the inside of the vein. This, in turn, causes the vein to close up and seal off. As a result, the body absorbs the vein and it disappears.

Injection of veins: Sclerotherapy for spider veins is the injection of a substance into a small vein(1-2mm) that looks like spider legs. The substance injected can either be liquid or foam and is called a sclerosing solution because it either dissolves the vein or pushes the blood out of the vein so that the vein walls stick together and then dissolve. There are many solutions that can be used for sclerotherapy.
