Maybe: The sound should not be associated with pain, however; and the snap should not cause locking of the finger in a straight or bent position. Go back to your doctor for specific answers if you have these other complains.

Check it out: This sounds concerning. It may be indicative of a malunion or nonunion. Get an exam and an x-ray is likely.
