Problem-based : The only way to know how to answer this question is to understand what caused the extra facial mass in the first place. It may be fat, bone, enlargement of the salivary glands or even enlargement of the muscles. Start by seeing a facial plastic surgeon as their underlying training can determine the cause and lead you to the correct solution.

Depends on the mass: The answer for you depends on what is causing the extra "fullness." the possibilities are usually bone, fat or muscle. If a person has a bone structure which makes the face look wide either at the cheeks or angle of the jaw, bone surgery is the answer. If it is fat in the cheeks, then weight loss or buccal fat reduction. Teeth grinders tend to have bulging masseter muscles, treated w/ botox.
