Not recommended: Sleep deprivation is destructive to your body and mind. Your body requires an appropriate amount and stages of sleep for proper recovery. To reduce fat and increase lean muscle mass, proper diet and exercise following a realistic, long-term plan is the best strategy. good luck!

Yes: Sleep deprivation is catabolic, causes cortisol to rise, and can cause muscle loss and fat gain. Insomnia also can also reduce leptin and increase ghrelin. Leptin deficiency increases appetite and produces obesity; ghrelin is a potent stimulator of appetite.
