May be more involved: You probably have some degree of vascular insufficiency as well and there is quite a bit of pain involved with ischemia. See your doctor to find out if this is the case. There are other combinations of oral pain medications that may help, including some that can be used topically. Pain management is an art and there are also doctors who specialize in just that. A referral to a specialist may help.
