Usually: You have to remember that acupuncture is not magic. Usually neck and shoulder tightness and pain should improve with acupuncture over a short period of time if it's not related to a disc problem. One session usually will not completely fix the pain and tightness.

Maybe: He may need a different massage therapist. Some people will find one person's technique to be more suited to their problems . Acupuncture may take several visits to be effective.

Possibly.: Acute injury can sometimes be treated in one session. However, chronic musculoskeletal pain may require 12 or more sessions.
