Angels: Hearing angels may or may not be a psychosis-related hallucination. There are many cultures & religions where hearing angels is normal and accepted. Some don't hear this as a "voice, " but more an inner knowing or intuitive experience. One needs to understand the person's culture before saying an experience is part of sickness. If destructive action is commanded, it's more likely due to illness.

Other symptoms?: Dr pappas is right. But i wonder how you ended up seeing the 'psych'? Often this can happen if someone becomes ill and in addition to the experience of voices they begin to struggle in other areas of their life. Maybe they can no longer focus on work or school, or lose interest in things or people they used to care about. When this happens often family or others take them to the 'psych'.
