You're 24: It depends why you're taking the atenolol. Abrupt withdrawal at your age isn't dangerous but can lead to rapid heart rate, including arrhythmia (like SVT) if you're prone to that, and you'll see your BP rise. Both effects are temporary but can be avoided by tapering the dose over 2 weeks.
