A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypertension: Management of high blood pressure is not usually conducted on an as needed basis. If your doctor has diagnosed you with hypertension, typically after 3-6 high readings in the office over weeks to months, you should be taking a scheduled antihypertensive. Triamterene/hctz is not usually first-line therapy for mgt of hypertension. This combination is used when hypokalemia is a problem.
