Which bone is easiest to break in your hand?

Depends?: None are particularly "easy" to break. Probably the most common bone in the hand that we see broken on a regular basis is the end of the last hand bone (5th metacarpal). This is a "boxer's fracture" an is usually due to punching something harder than the bone! usually out of anger! then the distal ends of the fingers because they get caught in doors and such. Some wrist bones too!

Broken finger: Id guess the 4th or ring metacarpal if you were just testing it on a machine and were twisintg or torquing to or bending it as ot is the thinnest of the metacarpals for crush id choose the smallest distal phalanx, ie the little finger for sheet in vitro i might go with the 5th mc, but that is a great question to look at in a population study.
