How long should you wait before getting back on your feet after a foot operation?

Depends on procedure: It really depends on what procedure was performed. For example, most bunionectomies you can be back on your feet in a week or two in a surgical shoe or immobilizer however some require 6-8 weeks of non-weightbearing before allowed to bear weight. For other procedures such as hammertoe correction or removal of a cyst or lesion, you may be able to bear weight immediately, albeit in a surgical shoe.

Ask your surgeon: Always consult with your foot surgeon to determine when you can get back on your feet. Often it depends on what type of surgery you had. Early weightbearing after some foot procedures can cause complications.

Foot surgery: That , as stated, depends on the surgery. Always consult with your surgeon. He/she knows what was done
