Major Brand: Toothpaste makes brushing fun, but not that critical in oral health. It's the brushing that's important. That being said, i'm a dentist, and I use colgate with triclosan.

No magic bullet: Toothpaste is but one tool to help keep your teeth and mouth healthy. It is not a "magic bullet". Must be combined with slow, gentle brushing, healthy diet no smoking and/or drug use.. That being said, one example of a good all around adult toothpaste is crest pro health.

None is OK: Toothpaste makes you feel refreshed, but is wholly unimportant in maintaining oral health, especially if your community has fluoridated water. It is the brushing, the mechanical removal of plaque that is critical. In addition, there are a lot of not so healthy additives in toothpastes.
