It is possible...: Because the lower jaw and the external ear have sensory nerve supplies (inferior alveolar and auriculotemporal nerves, respectively) derived from the same nerve division (mandibular branch, trigeminal nerve), pain in one anatomic region can sometimes be perceived as originating from the other. But to paraphrase freud, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and sometimes an earache is just an earache.

Absolutely: Yes, a toothache can cause pain in the ear, especially if it is on the lower arch of teeth. The pain will radiate to the ear. Jaw joint problems will cause ear aches. The joint is next to the ear and any pressure from the joint will translate to the inner ear and cause pain.
