Poor data.: Tea tree oil has reported antimicrobial properties; it is used to treat plants of infections regularly. Human use has less good data, but the initial small, uncontrolled studies suggest it may have some role in wound healing. There's no strong study to make a medical recommendation one way or the other, however.
