Could be a fungal: Infection. You need an anti-fungal if it is and not tree oil. And it could also be a cellulitis do see your doctor for treatment.

Many things.: The symptoms you describe could be due to many dermatological conditions. If it is fungal, tea tree oil may help. Probably better to get a derm consult for accurate diagnosis.
