No: Compression and lymphatic massage are the mainstays of therapy for lymphedema. As lymphedema is a diagnosis of exclusion, make sure you have seen a specialist and that other causes of swelling have been ruled out.

Check this out: Try this link. I work with more mechanical means to address this problem, but this might be a starting point: http://www.Naturalnews.Com/034069_lymphedema_natural_remedies.Html before starting these forms of treatment, check with your doctor first. Herbal medicines can react with prescribed medications.

Not for lymphedema: I agree dr. H'doubler, the mainstay of treatment for lymphedema is decongestive with compression and lymphatic massage drainage. It has never been shown that any herbal treatments have any effect on lymphedema, although i was interested to see recently that dr. Westfried (a healthtap doctor) gives his lymphedema patients a naturally occurring anti-inflammatory: bromelains.

Lymphedema: I do not know of any herbal treatments for lymphedema. If it is true lymphedema you need to treat this aggressively, do not cross your legs or sit with your feet down for an extended time. Support hose are a help. You may need to see a physical therapist that specializes in lymphedema. It is worth a shot. Lymphedema can become permanent and very stiff.
