See below: 750 mg a day is reasonable. Naproxen not necessarily safer. Chronic use of any NSAID such as Relafen (nabumetone) or Naproxen can have side effects, one important one that you don't mention is stomach problems. Frequently if you are on chronic Relafen (nabumetone) you will want to take a regular antacid such as famotidine. Tylenol (acetaminophen) has side-effects primarily of the liver. Nsaids can affect kidneys.
