Is it possible that the mesh used to repair my ventral hernia's is causing the pain i have when i finish urinating?

Yes: If the mesh was placed close to the bladder, it certainly can cause discomfort w/urination. I see this most commonly following (laparoscopic) inguinal hernia repair, but, if the hernia was near the pelvis, it is possible.
