A member asked:

What is the treatment for a crush injury of the big toe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See a podiatrist: Debilitating arthritis, toe deformities, permanent nerve injury and tendinopathy can result if the fracture is not adequately stabilized and the soft tissues not properly cared for. Prolonged immobilization, and/or surgery are indicated. If the injury is severe enough, and surgical reconstruction is not possible, amputation might be needed. Get it taken care of asap!
