A member asked:

I dropped 10lbs on my big toe in jan. & it turned black. it's growing back, there's dried blood, lifting up on the sides and hurts a bit. treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Toe injury: If dried blood under the toenail is causing significant throbbing pain, you could try applying warm compresses to liquify the dried blood and then, if necessary, have a hole drilled into the nail by a physician so that the blood could be removed. There is no specific treatment for a toe fracture other than taping it to the next toe. See a podiatrist for evaluation, advice and treatment as needed
