A member asked:

For what conditions is eye transplant possible?

Sorry, none.: Eye transplants are not yet feasible, even with potent antirejection drugs. The optic nerve connections are not capable of transmitting visual impulses even if the actual procedural steps were performed. Corneal transplants are commonly done as needed for corneal scarring or diseases, and cataract removal and new lens placement is routine, but no eye transplants!

Cornea conditions: Cornea transplantation is the most common firm of solid organ transplantation in the United States. It is used if the clear front part of the eye becomes cloudy. Transplantation of the entire eye is not possible.
