Reactive lLymph node: Your occipital lymph nodes can respond by swelling to things as diverse as a systemic virus or vaccination & or a localized event like irritation from a skin rash or bug bites. Those around the neck & skull are more noticeable since they often overlay bony structures or are near the surface. Most reach peak size in a few days & shrink within 2 wks. Have them checked if they bother you.
