Ulcerative colitis: Low abdominal pain could be from many different causes but in a patient with a history of uc i'd certainly be concerned about a flare-up. When's the last time you had a colonoscopy? It's probably time to see you gastroenterologist.

Abdominal pain: With your past history, lower threshold to go in to your doc. Absent fever, vomiting, or mass you can try to observe yourself, get your bowels moving. If not better soon, go in for a visit.
