A member asked:

Re: mri brain - what is foci and what is significance of size, number and locations?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nonspecific: Foci indicates scattered lesions in different areas of the brain and need clinical correlation to diagnose significance. If the lesions are changing in size, number, location, and also are causing neurological symptoms, this likely is consistent with multiple sclerosis, but a variety of other possibilities could be considered. Discuss fully with your doctor.
